Dagger

Started on 27th June and finished on 27th July 2017, This is the first time our blacksmith Nguyễn Đức Duy made a quillon dagger, and the workshop was still rather poorly equipped. The 26 cm long blade was constructed in san-mai style. The blade core that exposing to the cutting edge is 65Г steel, and the outer steel is pattern-welded steel forged from 65Г and mild steel. Handle was made from water buffalo horn, and it was fluted with eight flutes and inlaid with eight twisted stainless steel wires. Other materials as twisted pattern-welded steel, mild steel, brass, and rosewood were used on the hand-guard, pommel, and scabbard. This was the most complicated project was done in our workshop at that time.
